Presentation of the nomination trophy for the Tièche
On Thursday, 26 September 2024, the WWF handed the stone sculpture for the nominated Tièche to the representative of the Crans-Montana municipality in Valais.
The Tièche, one of the few rivers in Valais that is 100% natural and almost untouched by human activity, is a candidate for the River Pearl PLUS label.
On 15 May WWF Switzerland and the River Pearls Association named two rivers from Romandy, the French-speaking part of Switzerland, among this year’s eight most beautiful natural rivers in Switzerland. Today, the WWF presented the trophy symbolising this prestigious nomination to the municipality of Crans-Montana.
This award recognises the ecological and agricultural value of the Tièche and encourages Crans-Montana to go a step further and seek certification of this extraordinary river with the River Peal PLUS label.
